Overall it was a great time! We later took a group picture with Lecesne in the KDT lobby. After the play there was a talk back and some of the BVTC members got to ask Lecesne questions. Joe Hanrahan, Midnights Artistic Director, portrays a detective and other characters in a small New Jersey town as he unravels the story of Leonard Pelkey. The characterizations, scenic design, sound, and delivery was stunning. In this town we see the writer/actor James Lecesne portray an array of characters from a hardened New Jersey detective to an abrasive, yet kindhearted hairdresser mom. This story takes place in a small town in New Jersey. James Lecense portrays every character in a small Jersey shore town unraveling the story of Leonard Pelkey, an optimistic and flamboyant 14 year old boy. The play is about a murder investigation of a 14-year-old boy, Leonard Pelkey, who is brutally murdered for openly being himself and embracing it.
